Coolant Temperature Gauge
The coolant temperature shown by the number of segments displayed.
If the coolant temperature rise to above 110ºC (230ºF), all the segments are displayed, and the "H" mark and the coolant temperature indicator blink.
This warns the operator that the coolant temperature is too high. Stop the engine and check the coolant level in the reserve tank after the engine cools down. Have the cooling system checked by an authorized Kawasaki dealer.

Fuel Gauge
The fuel in the fuel tank is shown by the number of segments displayed.
When the fuel tank is full, all the segments are displayed. If the fuel level is not displayed correctly, have the fuel gauge check by an authorized Kawasaki dealer.
As the fuel level in the tank goes down, the segments disappear one by one from F (full) to E (empty).
The fuel level warning indicator goes on when approximately 2.3 L (0.6 US gal) of usable fuel remains. Refuel at the earliest opportunity when the fuel level warning indicator goes on.
When the vehicle is on the side stand, the fuel gauge cannot display the correct level. Stand the vehicle upright to check the fuel level.

Multifunction Display
WARNING
For Safety, do not operate the meter buttons while riding the motorcycle.
NOTE
- The multifunction display is displayed in the unit depending on the unit setting.
- Push the "ADJ" button for 2 seconds to select the display modes. The display modes can be shifted in the following order.
Multifunction Display Items
- Odometer
- Trip Meter A
- Trip Meter B
- Service Mode
- "ADJ" Button
- Flow when pushing "ADJ" button for 2 seconds
Unit Setting
The unit setting in the multifunction display can be changed according to local regulations. Make sure the unit setting is correctly displayed before riding.
To change the unit setting:
- Push the "ADJ" button for 2 seconds to display the odometer.
- Push the "MODE" button for 2 seconds to select the display unit.
- Flow when pushing and holding "MODE" button
Odometer
The odometer shows the total distance.
This meter cannot be reset.
NOTE
- When the odometer reaches 999999 while running, the meter reset to 0 and continues counting.
Trip Meter
The trip meters show the distance traveled since they were last reset to 0.
To reset the trip meter:
- Push the "ADJ" button for 2 seconds to display the trip meter A or B.
- Push the "RESET" button and hold it in.
- After 2 seconds, the figure display turns to 0.0, and then starts counting when the vehicle is operated. The meter counts until it is reset.
NOTE
- When the trip meter reaches 9999.9 while running, the meters reset to 0.0 and continues counting.
Service Mode
The service mode show the distance for periodic maintenance traveled since they were last reset to 0.
To reset the service mode:
- Push the "ADJ" button for 2 seconds to display the service mode.
- Push the "RESET" button and hold it in.
- After 2 seconds, the figure display turns to 0.0, and then starts counting when the vehicle is operated. The meter counts until it is reset.
NOTE
- The oil service indicator goes on when the distance of the service mode reaches 5 000 km (3 107 mile).
Clock
To adjust the clock:
- Push the "ADJ" button for 2 seconds to display the odometer.
- Push the "MODE" and "ADJ" button simultaneously for more than 2 seconds.
The hour display only blinks.
Push the "ADJ" button to advance the hours.
- Push the "MODE" button. The hour display stops blinking and the minute display starts blinking. Push the "ADJ" button to advance the minutes.
- Push the "MODE" and "ADJ" button simultaneously. The displays stop blinking and the clock starts working.
NOTE
- When the battery is disconnected, the clock is reset to 12:00 and starts working again when the battery is connected.
Keys
This motorcycle has a combination key, which is used for the ignition switch, steering lock, seat lock, security shutter, and fuel tank cap.
Included with the key is a key number, which may be stamped on a separate tags. Record the key number in the space provided and store the number in a safe place. If your key came with tags, store it in a safe place as well.

In the event you lose your keys, you will need the key number to have a duplicate made. If the key number is lost completely, you may need to replace the ignition switch and all other locks operated by that key.
Contact your Kawasaki dealer to purchase additional spare keys either using your original key as a master or using the key code on the tag. Store one key at home and keep another spare in your wallet or riding gear, in case the original is lost.
NOTE
- The security shutter key can be created from the key number only.
